2013 has come to an end. A significant year for us; we lost our African Father and leader, Nelson Mandela. A time where our current leadership is questionable and a time for all South Africans to be reminded about the sacrifices Nelson Mandela made to achieve his vision, freedom and unity amongst us all. Quoted by a prophet: “As I walked out the door toward the gate that would lead to my freedom, I knew if I didn't leave my bitterness and hatred behind, I'd still be in prison.” We all have the same ability inside of us and it is our duty to continue the work that he had set us all out to do. “No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.”, When I look, listen or read about Nelson Mandela, I truly feel that love. Prophet Madiba, our role model did not have to read self help books; he developed those skills for us to learn from and to continue through. We must stay inspired by his words. With life in mind Creating Change focus on grass root level, empowering the youth through Conscious Life Style Educational and Mentorship Programs, creating awareness and offering solutions. 2013 was packed with fun activities and educational workshops in Conscious Cooking, Gardening, heritage and planting trees in schools and (our first) retirement home in Ocean View, Masiphumulele, Cape Town Science Centre and the Green Space. The most significant event this year was Digging for the Future on 18 July for Madiba’s birthday where many hands from all sectors worked together on implementation a soup kitchen garden at Kleinberg Primary. Watch below our 3 minute movie of this special day.
