The Power of Community is Positive Change

Thanks Ripples for Good and Builders warehouse.

I had the great privedege to meet Maria Botha a public figure for doing good work in communities and schools since 2004 and founder of Ripples for Good a few weeks ago.

I volunteered on one of her projects, to paint and renovate an area in Parkwood. A very poor community with elements of gangsterism, drugs and malnutrition amongst many kids to mention only a few of the issues there.

Builders Warehouse the main sponsor of these feel good projects identified and project managed by Ripples for Good, had their staff there implementing all these positive changes. We had a great day, converting a concrete area into a soccer field and painted the kiddies play area and lastly tables and chairs for 45 creches in the area.

We also fed 300 kids a boerewors roll filling some tummies for the first time that day.

It was amazing to watch Maria's determined personality, on top of everything, managing and securing the large team and community members, efficiently and with such spirit.

I salute you Maria Botha - you are a selfless person, making a difference everyday with an open happy heart, you are truly ripples for good.

Also I would like to thank Ripples for Good and Builders Warehouse for your generous donations towards our Conscious Kitchen and garden in Ocean View where we teach healthy eating, gardening and cooking to children with similar challenges as these kids mentioned.
